7.) Gel Medium: Another important mixed media material for building your static backgrounds. Gel mediums usually last longer and are great investment pieces as well. They come in different types of textures. My personal favorite is the crackle paste which I will be purchasing once the current gel medium that I use is finished.

A type of gel medium used for adhering 3D embellishments. It is way different from your typical school glue. This brand and type specifically dries slower. That means that you can move your embellishment around and don’t have to worry about drying time. This is perfect for the person, like me who loves to compose the design as you go. Another good thing with this is it can be used as a finishing varnish. This particular type has gloss effect after completely drying leaving the brush strokes on the finish product.
