Art Process

  1. Whenever I start a project, sometimes setting up a colour scheme helps determine the direction of the design. So, for this altered art, I am using hues of teals, blue, turquoise, and brass. I love these colour combinations, so falling in love with a colour palette can boost one’s creativity, IMO.

To make this simple, the elements that I’m using are the usual items found in several of my projects (i.e. butterfly cardstock).

  1. The turquoise and blue-green Finnabair patina effect pastes are the main textures of my background. They leave a bumpy and sandy-like feel to the letter K canvas. You can stop here and proceed with the embellishment part; however, I wanted to mute the colours by using the white acrylic paint that has warm tones in it.

The second part of my background is topping the white colour with a liquid crackle medium.

  1. Layering embellishments on a project depends on individual preferences. I wanted to keep this project as uncomplicated, bright, and clean as possible. Moreover, leaving decorations unpainted gives a different impact on the overall look of the artwork.

I hope that you can find inspiration from my art processes 🙂
